Limerick Friday 27th May

Limerick 7.40 Handicap Chase - 2 miles 6 and 1/2 furlongs - 16 run (reserves available) - Going Good

At the head of the market are an unexposed ex French horse in Mica Malpic who frankly could be anything and Money Heist who is definitely the one they appear to have to beat as it has some 3 mile P2P form and gets upped towards that kind of trip for the first time under Rules for Gavin Cromwell. If you want a win saver please feel free.

We have a few who we've looked at many times in the past 2 years, especially Tricky Trix who's have an each way shout but more likely needs further and some rain and Four Country Roads who has run well and placed a few times, runs off a light weight but has to give the handicapped 10lbs in real terms. Three Loud Knocks won for me in early March when very well backed in from 16/1 to 15/2 so note any market moves on that one if you want some shrapnel if the market does move come off time but I can't tip it as such tonight as I think it would need a deluge and I can't see any in the forecast.

Lawlors Choice at a price has some Hunter Chase and P2P form but the one I'm most confident about and at a big price is MY OAKCLAHOME. It has had a run and was Pulled up. If you look back however, it won and placed second run after a break off a similar pipe-opener and with that win mark being 97 and the place mark being 105 it looks very interesting at the price off a mark of 102. I'm quietly confident that it can run a place here with luck.

The other one I think is good market value is SECRET CARGO who showed signs of running better and in to form and fitness last time and off this mark really does have strong place claims if that wasn't a false horizon

Limerick 8.10 Handicap Chase - 3 miles 1 and 1/2 furlongs - 16 run - Going Good

At the top of the market here are Fox Watch and Norwigi. Fox Watch won back to back off 98 and 104, upped to 112 last time it ran OK but looked to have hit a ceiling and off 111 I want to take it on. Norwigi was a runner up in a 3 mile P2P that doesn't appear to have thrown up too much in terms of form. It's upped towards that sort of trip for the first time under Rules and is priced about right based on the form we've seen over shorter. It's a danger but no more than that.

ASK CORY has won off marks of 99 and 105, showed signs of returning to form last time and looks solid enough for Henry De Bromhead and Rachel Blackmore. Father Jed is a decent horse over both codes and has Chase wins off marks of 91 and 95, it won nicely over hurdles last time and runs off 101 here. It has to have good place chances but I fancy ASK CORY more at that type of intermediate price.

Mister Bells has some decent Course form but needs some help off the handicapper I feel, Ragnar Lodbrok is Ragnar Lodbrok, you know my philosophy with that one by now, one day he'll jump round and win doing handstands, I'll have £2 shrapnel e/w in hope rather than anticipation. Classic Galway at a bigger price has some interesting Course and Distance form but may need a more extreme test in heavier going than this.

I think that AVEC ESPOIR can give ASK CORY most to think about, a solid and consistent typ who deserves to win, by no means well handicapped and is too consistent for its own good in that respect but its won off 90, placed and run well off a mark of 100 and can do so again off a mark of 101.
