Chester 3.00

Chester 3.00 1 Masham Star @ 12/1 / 4 Mutawathed @ 5/1 - both each way (Sky go odds to 4th)

I am reluctant always to side against Gosden and Dettori but to my thinking Via Egnatia
is that rarity here, a horse who may not want to be drawn low?. He won't have any experience of anything
other than big galloping straight tracks and the wide expanses of Newmarket, and I think at 4/1 that he is too
short, he may well scoot home, but to much unknown for me at the price. Drawn next to him in Stall 2 is
MASHAM STAR, trained by Mark Johnson and ridden by Franny Norton. We know he likes to lead, I think
and visualise he will try to make all, Norton is a master round here and if he can slip the field and get a blow
in before the final turn it is possible he can be away and clear. Of the more fancied runners, the strongest

profile for the Course is MUTAWATHED and I will make him the each way banker of the race.

(You may recall me being very confident about a 20/1 shot a few weeks back who was a late non runner;
the horse is BUCKONTUPENCE - he runs in the 4.55 at Worcester, I'm less sure today, mainly due to a horse
called Redbridge Miller who you can back at a nice price too, but the Trainer James Evans is in fine form as
is Redbridge Millers Trainer, so a bit of shrapnel on both may not go amiss_
