Market Rasen 4.50 - a tricky Handicap Hurdle Class 4 over just short of 3 miles with 13 declared. The claims of VERY EXTRAVAGENT and QUERRY HORSE are obvious and they will be the ones to beat, though both have flaws. Of the remainder MOORLANDS MIST has been backed and on some form not hard to see why but in my opinion has the profile of an early season Autumn type and too many P (Pulled Up) appearing in form cv after Christmas. Could need the run but lots of money for it. The Twiston-Davies pair could be anything and very unexposed, of the pair I'd prefer FAMILY MAN to Rizzardo and he is in the Tracker for a small stake.

 

I will have a punt though on the Pam Sly trained ACERTAIN CIRCUS, a very competent Trainer and this one has clearly had training problems, types she does very well with. When winning over 2 miles as a Novice in 2015 she commented it would need at least 2 1/2 miles, it subsequently performed well in Class 3 and even ran well in a Class 1 race at Sandown in March 2015. Then had a 2 and a 1/2 year lay off, came back and ran with great promise before over another year off and 2 runs sine have seen it finish 11th of 12 and 4th of 8. That last run was just a few weeks ago, the fact they come out so soon is encouraging and in that run proved that the engine remained but was a bit rusty jumping. It is a "thinking yard" who don't run for the sake of it, and intriguing background makes me fancy a flutter at a decent price.
