MICHAEL - Leopardstown 4.00 Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles - 13 run - Soft>Heavy

At the head of the market, Balum is upped in trip and 11lbs so has to be vulnerable in difficult conditions. No Fussing is 2-2 at Punchestown but at 7/2 is not really e/w value and I wouldn't be wanting to take a short price on anything in a race as open as this. Jerk is another upped in trip and considered.

 

I really kept coming back to 3 horses but have to mention WILD HUNT @ 40/1 (to 4th place) at big odds and well worth a £1 e/w side bet at early odds. It's another who was clobbered by the handicapper for a couple of wins early in its handicap career and another coming back to reasonable handicap mark territory and once it gets into the mid 90's (100 today) may be ready to win again.

 

Elliott again seems to have a strong contender with a steady improver in SEE A STRIDE and that last run has been franked since by the in form Aodham may, COSMO RENFRO though will be a tough rival having handled a 9lbs hike for a win with 3 successive places since and looks a grinder who will run to the line. For some shrapnel look at HE'S HOME AGAIN an eye catching late staying on run after a jumping error last time out.
