Market Rasen 2.30

THE ADVISOR - Market Rasen 2.30 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 2 miles 4 and 1/2 furlongs - 13 run - Good to Soft (Soft in places)

At the head of the market neither the handicap debutant Long Draw for Olly Murphy nor Dexperado who was admittedly a fine runner up over Course and Distance but showing that sort of form for the first time, here last time, look particularly good market value at 4/1 or lower. Mr Hope Street for the Skeltons is upped in trip but has also shown very little and would probably be twice the price or more if from a lesser Yard.

Of the remainder Rickety Gate is dropped in trip and one of a couple from Nicky Richards Yard so rates a danger.

I'm most keen at the prices and with potential each way value in mind in THE MIDWIFE a Course and Distance winner recently off a mark of 88, drops back to this trip and back here after a lesser run last time and with a good claimer taking 5lbs of the mark of 93, with that Course and Distance winning form, looks the best value bet in the race.

At bigger prices, GOLDEN AMBITION takes a slight drop in trip and eases its handicap mark on its third handicap run and Ben Pauling will be hoping to find a level this one can win off sooner or later and I'll be disappointed if its not in the first 4 home here. PLAY BY THE RULES was running well at the front when inexplicably running out last time, its impossible to know how much was left in the tank but it wasn't tiring visibly, so worth a small punt with professional help from the saddle this time, although i doubt any jockey would have held on last time.
