This  is a tough Course with a climb to the line and fences would be a stern test of jumping ability.

 

The favourite Dawn Raider is in our tRacker due to the excellent winter form of Trainer Gary Hanmer, a 9/1 TRacker winner last time it gets a 7lbs penalty and at the price is not great value. For Fitz Sake has untapped potential as a P2P winner over 3 miles off a reducing Rules Handicap mark but doesn't justify the skinny early price on what its shown so far. Elmdale was twice a runner up in P2P fields over 3 miles but has not set the world alight so far for Nigel Twiston-Davies and connections probably account for another one at a skinnier price than bare form suggests. 

 

Catlin is interesting at a bigger price, it ran up a sequence of 3rd, 3rd , 1st in early 2021 including a win off a mark of 80 at Newcastle at a comparable distance, it's back down to a mark of 80 and although seemingly out of form would be my reserve if either selection was a non runner provided we went down to a minimum field of 8 runners. Dr Oakley IS in the Tracker and has been since a poor run when tipped at Uttoxeter before Christmas. It remains frustrating and out of form but a wind operation in early January was followed by a run over way too short last time and it's possible they just wanted to give the horse a blow out, it has winning form over hurdles off a mark of 86 and gets this trip so off 77 it could figure and would be of interest in future when showing any glimmers that the wind operation has worked.

 

My pair against the field though are RING THE MOON who has won over shorter off marks of 87 and 94 and who is coming back to a mark it can win off of 97 and who has shaped as though this sort of trip may be its optimum distance for the in-form Evan Williams and Adam Wedge combination. The other pick is CELMAS DES BOIS a Course winner over 2 and a half miles off a mark of 94, placed at this trip off a mark of 92, it hated the ground possibly last time and on better going here off a mark of 97 with a 3lbs Claim should be running on to a place at the very least.
