Epsom 3.35
THE ADVISOR - Epsom 3.35 Handicap - Class 3 - 1 mile 4 furlongs - 14 run - Good to Soft / Soft
I think it may be a fair bit softer here than advertised based on a number of News items I saw from the Londo area yesterday where it looked very wet.
A number may need the run, a few will struggle at the trip and not too many have proven soft ground form.
I'll certainly be adding Haseefah, Madame Ambassador and Neandra to the TRACKER from today and hope that my thoughts that all will benefit from the run and probably need better underfoot conditions is correct as I think all three of those will more than pay their way in the months ahead. I also think Open Champion is unproven of soft and may be best watched today but another to keep an eye on.
I narrowed my short list down to 5 and of them I think Captain Kane who had a stellar 2022 will need better ground and a bit of respite from the handicapper. The other one reluctantly left out of the investment list is Flyin Solo who has clearly had Training issues but who also obviously has untapped potential, he should benefit from an early run this season and was nip and tuck with SALIGO BAY for a small investment. I am just on balance left thinking that the Moore horse is better market value and has had a spin over Hurdles and looks a solid e/w shout off a mark of 76.
I like the run style of ALPINE STROLL and the early price, this one should get 12 furlongs downhill and likes to race prominently. Its race fit, ok on soft ground and off a nice markof 75 and on a Course where chasing horses can get unbalanced and hit traffic problems. I like the logic that it will kick on and set sail and challenge something to come and beat it.
The obvious e/w poke here to do that is SIR RUMI and it literally ticks every box, fitness, form, Going, handicap mark and really can have no excuses not to place at the very least here.
TIPS (1) Sir Rumi / (2) Alpine Stroll / (3) if you wish to enhanced places - Saligo Bay (written before N/R)
