Thirsk 3.45 and 4.15 races

Barry Nicholls - Thirsk 4.15 2 The Lock Master / 7 Moon Over Rio

Barry Nicholls - Thirsk 3.45 5 Bismarck The Flyer

(Coral go odds to 4th in 4.15 race)

Barry is in the chair today and here is his logic-:

BISMARCK THE FLYER in the 3.45 is a Course and Distance winner, runs off a nice handicap mark;
has had a run already so should be fit enough and has a solid each way chance. The draw on the
straight track here used to be a very big high draw bias, in recent seasons it has evened out and
there will be no excuses on that front, unless we see a bias returning all of a sudden which will then

give us a clue for future fixtures here.

THE LOCK MASTER gets an ideal draw in stall one for the 12 furlong handicap at 4.15; a tough front
runner in the style of many of his stable mates, he is sure to try to run prominently and save a bit round
the turn and play "catch me if you can". He is fit from the AW too and with several not proven at the trip
the tactics seem obvious. His handicap mark suggests every chance. MOON OVER RIO is drawn wide;
but very wide allows the rider to "drop in" and not use too much early speed whilst then getting a position
off the turn. A nice handicap mark, usually ready after a break and proven at the trip off a nice mark at
a decent price; and usually there or thereabouts.
