Thursday 3rd July

A win for Mrs Trump at Thirsk at 13/2, it was possibly quite fortuitous given the bad luck in running a few behind suffered, but as we always say, good and bad luck evens out and we'll gladly take that one. If you took the extra bet on the 3rd rated Manilla Scouse who won at 12/1 you'll be pretty happy hopefully, if you didn't; a 7/1 place for Pals Battalion mitigated slightly the loss on the race. A decent runner up effort too at 9/1 from Henry Box Brown at Worcester.  We're slowly recovering some form with a sprinkling of winners and placed horses after a poor week last week and hopefully that general trend will continue.

There are big fields over in Ireland agoan today but as we have outlined we will hold back from Irish tipping for a few weeks at least. We did look long and hard at a 12 furlong handicap at Kempton tonight with 14 runners but it looks fiendishly competitive in terms of known form and some potential improvers just cloud the picture too much, same sentiments too  about 12 runner handicap over 7 furlongs at Newbury, also this evening.

We will focus therefore on a competitive Handicap Chase at Perth with 12 runners and a 16 runner 7 furlong handicap down the long straight at Yarmouth, both afternoon Fixtures.
