Saturday 21st June - (Royal) Ascot Day 5
After a day of big-priced somewhat unexpected winners, and a week when we've just been touched off three times in big field handicaps to suffer frustrating runner up finishes, it was nice to close out with a confident 10/1 SP winner courtesy of Ardresha in the closing race and a nice place too from Zayer at 16/1 SP.
Any talk about the draw bias was thrown on its head when low drawn horses won a couple of early races although the high side held sway later on. Quite simply I think it is down to where sustained pace is primarily and also dare we say "luck of the draw".
We will fully attack the Wokingham at 5.00 and The Golden Gates Handicap at 5.35, have a look at a few at nice e/w prices in 3 other races and try to do what we did at Cheltenham, when we cracked the Placepot on the final day.
