Monday 22nd April

We are going to start our transition to the promised new formats from today in preparation for the full launch next Monday. This requires some changes to the website and Members Paddock which are almost complete and which will reopen on Wednesday.

The fact that there are 6 meetings today covering Turf Flat and National Hunt in the UK and Ireland and a fair number of handicaps with field sizes from 10 to 16, some afternoon and evening racing, gives us a chance to expand our scope to cover more races but with fewer selections in those races. In simple terms much fewer instances of 4 picks in a couple of 20 runner races, and a more focused plan of looking at between 4 and 6 races per day with a sole tip or a top 2 rated in each.

We aren't prescribing actual stakes from today, e.g no more shrapnel or 1/2 point each way etc, but we will make a suggestion of how many "points" from your overall Bank we think should be expended on each race. On Friday we will reissue our old but slightly revamped Betting Bank Guide - it will have an overall Bank of 200 points to start with and we will run a Daily update of points staked and points profit / loss each day from May 1st.

We will also use the format to attack some significant "non handicaps" too, especially some of the 3 year old races like The Guineas where as you will recall we have had spectacular success in the past with massive SP wins and places, emphasising that "enhanced places" are not always needed to attack value.

We will attack 4 races today, it could have been 5 or 6, and we will label them as "Daily Tips" (more on the past 12 month test proofing of this method tomorrow)
