Towcester 2.50

Towcester 2.50 10 Bobonyx @ 13/2 + 3 Magical Man @ 9/1 - 1/2 point each way

(Ladbrokes / Coral / SkyBet go odds to 4th place - see logic for suggested Tricast Perm)

A Class 5 Handicap Chase over 3 miles and 1 Furlong on dead ground with a lot of Course Form to consider. We will start
with Basford Ben, a winner last time out, gets a 7lbs penalty though and his career cv indicates not likely to win 2 in a row; but I see him
as ideal Tricast Perm material here. Black Narcissus has had a wind op, but very recently; is potentially well handicapped with Magical
Man on one run but the form before the op was poor and it more often than not takes 2-3 runs for a horse to realise it can run pain free
and breathe better IF the wind Op works, likely to go close but watched today. Over My Head and its stablemate can and have popped
up here and Over My Head runs best in these conditions but on balance of form, too much to find. HOWS MY FRIEND is 9/2 favourite;
is 13 now and not great form in heavy Going; feared but we'll take it on. I would be very interested in TOUCH OF STEEL but the Going

would seem to be a massive negative here today. That leaves me with 3 who are BOBONYX ; MAGICAL MAN and SNOWBALL.

BOBONYX ticks every box really; Trainer specialises in this type and had a nice winner yesterday indicating small string is in form;
A mark of 79 less a 7 lbs Claim and a relatively light weight and proven over trip and a mud lover, so no excuses and should be
placing at the very least. MAGICAL MAN ticks similar boxes too; won this last year off 86; won at Ffos Llas off 90 and although
up to a mark of 95; interesting they stick with a very good jockey rather than reaching for a Claimer. He just gets the nod over
SNOWBALL and if you want a 3rd sling at the pot; this is it; was intrigued De Boinville is doing 10.3 to ride this but was less
intrigued when I saw he is here for other rides, nonetheless a Course and Distance winner off 75 last year; off 76 here IF ND-B
can get down to 10 stones and 3 pounds that is, just recent form makes him 3rd pick and Basford Ben would be 4th for Tricast Perm.
