A number of Course and Distance winners in here and a number who should certainly come on for the run.

 

Apache Pilot is a 12 year old now, has had a run and CD win came off 82 so todays mark of 79 is certainly interesting. For Jim is another with CD next to its name, runs off the same mark for Jennie Candlish and one to massively fear but at the Odds not totally confident of a win bet. Almost Gold is likely favourite at around 5/2, promised a lot a few times but yet to really deliver and at those Odds I'll take my chance and try to beat it.

 

Nortonthorpelegend for Rebecca Menzies has been off for 213 days, may just need this but together with stablemate Captain Mowbray is a big danger for one of the best younger Trainers in the North and definitely a Yard we'll follow again this winter, especially her ex P2P Novice Hurdlers, who paid a rich return last Autumn.

 

My idea of the winner today is DUTCH CANYON who also has Course and Distance winning form. Stuart Coltherd will have expected his horse to have needed a recent run and should be bang in contention today. I've always liked the lightly raced RISING MARIENBARD and it's clearly had its niggles. A recent run will have put him straight and on a few runs off marks over 100, todays 95, with a decent Claimer up kind of jumps off the page for a yard whose horses always have some improvement with each run.
