Here is the logic -:

The 3.00 race at Pontefract is a 10 furlong Class 4 affair and I narrowed it down to 3 horses who will all appreciate some cut in the ground. I will include ALMUNTHER a nice winner last time out and MUSIC SEEKER who has some decent form with cut in a Tricast. The selection though is PIONEERING who has struggled on unsuitable Going so far this summer, but a reducing mark as a result and the rain boosts confidence and it is within 2lbs of win mark territory and so the 8/1 looks appealing as an each way punt. A FULL Tricast Perm is 6 bets, I'll have a 50p Unit so costs £3.00

The 4.05 race at Pontefract is over 6 Furlongs and a Class 3 race, I looked for value at Gin In The Inn and Mr Orange but not fully convinced about either but at an early 101 I was most taken with SHEEPSCAR LAD to outrun Odds. I would anticipate the price being no better than 8-10/1 by 10am so you may have to be quick but even at 8/1 I think good each way value. It is back close to a mark it won off in an excellent end to 2017 and a Course winner for an in form yard.

Finally at Pontefract in terms of Tips, in the 5 Furlong Sprint at 5.10 the Migeley pair both have the benefit of very competitive Handicap marks and a bit of rain to give ideal conditions for the first time in ages. I can't see the 16/1 about TWENTSVTHLANCERS remaining past 10am but 10-12/1 would be exceptional value and ONE BOY whose last 2 wins have been on soft Going is ridden by a young Claimer called Oakley Brown who has wins in 2 of his last 4 races. One Boy has also the benefit of a recent wind operation.

One more TRICAST at Pontefract would be MULTIELLIE / CORREGIO and ROYAL COSMIC in the 2.30, I can't split them so will have a 50p Full Unit Perm 6 bets costs a total of £3.00

At Uttoxeter a similar small Tote Bet with a reverse forecast for a few quid on VIVE LE ROI and Mariners Moon in the 2.10 race. In the 5.20 I looked long and hard at Compadre, Fear Glic and Powerful Symbol but could not make an adequate case for any even at 1/4 point stakes and I actually own, via Ian Williams Racing Club a few hairs in ROCKNROLLRAMBO; on form and fit it would have very good each way chances, but it has been niggle after niggle and a good safe run round and a staying on effort getting second wind is all I can hope for and no more than a bit of loose change heart ruling head. One to follow I think next time out IF its fragility allows it!
