Today's Mentions

A few catch my eye given conditions likely to suit front runners, BROKEN FORCE at Haydock tried to make all last time and was a fine 3rd, that will have taught them a bit about the fractions and in a race where there is little alternative pace can make another bold bid. I can't forget what OUT DO did for me at Ascot on this day last year when written off due to age; draw and form. It arrives here written off again (although the price is similar) again from a  seemingly unfavourable low draw and a year older, it might be the only bit of lightening over the UK today IF it strikes but I can't totally discount it. Finally in the BIG race of the day at Ascot, whilst the hearts says THE TIN MAN (the nickname by the way of a legendary Scottish footballer called Ted McMinn!) ; the head says that one in the race at a "silly price" given collateral form with several far shorter is PROJECTION as it has had a few unlucky runs and its runner up run behind this weeks winner BLUE POINT suddenly looks like some very solid form! - Coral and Sky go odds to 4th so a small dabble might pay a nice return; if some of the big guns fail!
