There are 8 Fixtures today, but if we weed out the two AW Fixtures and two over in Ireland, we are left with a more manageable 4 at Newbury; Newmarket; Nottingham and Catterick, and within those I targeted 6 decent bigger field all age Handicaps, seeking some value. What we found was all a bit "speculative" but all ticked the right boxes of Course form, form at this time of year; form on Good ground with some cut and all have very winnable handicap marks and all are surely better on this ground, than what they have been running on. After a better few days, we wont go mad, and will stick with 1/4 point mentions today, no point in giving the signs of green shoots of recovery straight back by profligate staking!

Here is the Logic-:
Newbury 5.10 3 Kyllachys Tale was a bit of a stand out for me, having a Course win over 1 mile on similar Going. It won a Class 4 at Windsor on Good to Soft off a mark of 74; and a Class 5 (like today's race) on Course off a mark of 68. I like to map the form of "fillies" to months and therefore "seasons" and the August form of this horse is most compelling, so at 16/1 in a 9 runner race; looks to be decent value.

Newmarket 5.55 10 Mont Kiara; I looked also at Robero; from the Kelleway yard that won for us last night and I think that's the one to beat but 4/1 not great value in a 13 runner field; Mullionheir could be one to track as this is the time of year for it, and once we get the morning dew (guarantees tons of moisture and naturally softer Going) may spring to life; and also Lady Freya, a Course specialist but may just need it a bit firmer. However MONT KIARA stood above them in my analysis. Course and Distance winner last August off a mark of 80, will welcome optimum conditions again here; so a mark of 76 gives it every chance.

Newmarket 7.00 7 Luna Bear, not a massive favourite of the Yard as they are impossible to fathom in terms of when they are running to win or not. However; a Course and Distance winner in July last year in this Class off a mark of 72. It was subsequently upped in Grade and also ran on AW. First signs since the win of a return to form back here last time out, and the mark tonight of 71 is bang on where it needs to be.

Catterick 8.15 2 Perfect Words a real tear up over 5 Furlongs and Class 6 but the Fife Yard are one of many that simply won't have risked horses too often on Firm Going and a 14/1 winner yesterday indicates the string are ready now to capitalise on better ground. The horse had a productive spell last August winning off marks of 59 and 65; a win in May off 58 was a bit out of sequence but the mark is back to a nice range, runs off 60 tonight with a decent 5lbs Claimer and drawn 6, is low enough to have absolutely no draw excuses in a field of 15.

Those are the selections, I did look at the 7.10 at Catterick and really fancy both Prazares and Carlovian, but both drawn high, so I will have a small reverse forecast, instead of an out and out tip, just to scratch the itch.
