York 2.20

York 2.20 - A Class 4 Handicap over 10 Furlongs and a 100 yards and a very competitive filed of 16 declared. Lord Of The Rock was considered but a non runner and whilst I think SPUTNIK PLATINUM is the one to beat I do have concerns about 3 runs quite so close together for a previously fragile horse. I will have a small win saver on that one to cover my e/w bets.

Of the remainder Music Seeker ticks many boxes but is a Class 5 horse upped in Class here and off an increased mark and I can't see where the improvement is suddenly going to come from today. PIONEERING could be a big danger after a blow-out last week but that was on very heavy ground and just have to wonder if it's legs have recovered in a race of this nature. It's prominent running style is ideally suited for here though.

My selections though are MIKMAK who does really tick every box conceivable and is a bit of a "page jumper" for me, if it does not win then I can't say there are any excuses as it has probably needed the 2 runs so far and is now spot on fit, ideal handicap mark which has come down cleverly to win range, Course and Going form and Trainer/Jockey combo, very confident each way. The other one I liked was Fahey's DELPH CRESCENT a horse with good form over the Course and the Distance, a nice handicap mark finally back below 80 and again the Trainer/Jockey combo and a nice each way price.
