Punchestown 4.20

Punchestown 4.20 2 Baie Des Isles @ 9/1 / 17 White Arm @ 16/1 / 9 Forever Gold @ 16/1

(all 1/2 point each way - Lads + Coral + PP go odds to 5th and SkyBet to 6h place)

The big race is The Grand National Trial at Punchestown and there is a huge "sub plot" here in my opinion. Michael O'Leary is a
classic bully; he is trying again to bully the UK Handicapper over Grand National weights; there are 6 Gigginstown runners here
and of them Road To Riches; Thunder and Roses; Wounded Warrior have Aintree Grand National entries, I would suggest therefore;
that they will not really want to win today, more likely to have a "prep" for Aintree and for Mr O'Leary to claim they are handicapped
too high on the back of recent runs - we shall see. His most interesting ones may be WOODS WELL who has 3 Cheltenham entries;

I suggest that too may be looking to hide/improve a handicap mark. His most likely one is FOLSOM BLUE who we will come to shortly.

Having assessed the Gigginstown runners FOLSOM BLUE is obviously a big danger but the 13/2 is not great
value, have a small "win saver" if you wish and include in a Tricast Perm with the 3 selections. The dark horse could be Mullins runner
CHILDRENS LIST but I suspect a promising run round might be the logical result with this one, if it wins hats off and he has a new
big long distance race option. Of those with proven form and stamina in these conditions, last years winner BAIE DES ISLES looks
to have been targeted here again, the 9/1 is each way value and is only 4 pounds above last years winning mark. WHITE ARM is a
progressive and stamina proven horse; nice low weight here and some Course form too and finally IF and the key word is IF; FOREVER
GOLD can jump round in one piece, he has to have a great chance with proven stamina and a touch of unfulfilled class.
Have 1/2 point each way with one of the Bookies paying odds to 5th or 6th and a Tricast Perm including Folsom Blue.
