Galway Day 2 - Tuesday 30th July

A very disappointing day for me yesterday and I can only say "sorry". I've been in generally good form but it reminds me that the word "Festival" here should not compare it with what's happening over at Goodwood. There you have top Class Racing but at Galway its a "Festival" in the sense of being a great local occasion with some big field racing, some is top Class but a lot of it is medium class but very competitive. An example of that is today where both selected races are nowhere near the quality on offer over in Sussex.

7.40 BMW Mile 18 run 8 and 1/2 furlongs

A really tough job to find very much to be confident about and the one I am MOST confident about is the favourite JASSAR so have a win saver on that one if you can get 4/1 as of the rest only Onlyhuman interests me and I think that one must surely be in grip of the handicapper.

8.10 Caulfield Handicap 1 mile 1/2 furlong and 18 run.

SCORPION BLACK is first reserve but easily my tip pick. Back it early with a run to get best price as if it gets in price will tumble. it has an excellent form chance off a nice mark and a nice draw. Reserves here are allocated a stall so you can back with confidence as you are not guessing which horse might come out as it is not allocated the stall of the horse it replaces. Of the rest CYRUS DALLIN was an eyecatcher last time, has every chance and good course form now fit off a nice mark, will need luck from the draw but if it gets daylight will go very close. The only other one i can really suggest is WILD SHOT (a tip IF Scorpion Black does NOT run and one you can back closer to the start time) has mostly AW form these days but could run well from a nice draw.
