Ripon 2.55 2 Stone The Crows @ 6/1 - 1 point each way

A nice long distance Class 4 race to consider and the obvious starting point is last season's winner Stormin Tom (an SP2A pick on that day). Has an excellent CD record and is very consistent, but is 10lbs above that win mark of last year and has been kept busy during the past few months, so at 11/4 I'd like to find better value. There are 3 that stand out to me and of them I will have 1 point each way on STONE THE CROWS who won over this trip at Carlisle, wearing down Dominating in the process. Dominating gets a 3lbs pull but I think lacks the scope of STC here and as a fresh horse I think the 6/1 is cracking each way value. I will have Dominating in the Tricast Perm but also suggest 1/2 point "Mention punt" on CHEBSEY BEAU who won at this trip off today's mark of 68 at Musselburgh in the Autumn of last year and is a horse who arrives here fresh but fit with a bit of potential to improve.
